Encourages Others to Stand Up for Conservative Values

COLUMBIA-  Duke Buckner became the first U.S. Senate candidate to file in the South Carolina Republican Party's June 9, 2020 primary.  The seat is currently held by Senator Lindsey Graham.

"This campaign is and will always be about you, the people of South Carolina, and what we can accomplish together for our state and nation," said Buckner.  "My platform is simple. I am pro Life, pro Second Amendment and pro Fiscal Responsibility. I believe in Faith, Love and Courage, and that it is time for the righteous to govern our nation from town councils to the highest office in the land. Too much is at stake to sit silently by on the sideline and allow liberal, progressive socialist policies destroy our country.  I want to encourage everyone to speak up and speak out and get involved in the political process."

Born and raised in Walterboro, SC, Duke is a former school teacher, real estate broker and newspaper editor. He is a licensed attorney in South Carolina and Florida with SC office locations in Colleton, Hampton and Beaufort counties.  He served on the Walterboro, SC City Council and has been active in his church and community.  He and his wife Melissa have been married for 24 years and have three children.

"I desire to take our conservative values and beliefs with me to Washington, D.C. and fight for them and not compromise them as Senator Lindsey Graham has done on too many occasions,"  Buckner said.
